Antonius Pius

From ancient lands I’ve travelled

Sculptured in plaster, water and dye

To serve as a sign or symbol

a depiction of a certain place and time

My name is Antonius Pius

I’ve left the ancient world behind

to share my old world wisdom

in paint and golden light

Down

It's just not what I thought

I thought I had it all

I feel so lost

As my tears fall uncontrollably

upon the forest floor

Is it enough to buy and build and store

When your empty heart,

is locked behind a heavy door

A door that leads to an empty space

I must escape these rotting chains!

And here upon this step I sit

And think about the chance I missed

I hear the trees whispering in the breeze

Truth is the most difficult task, to seek

So now I must turn and loose the gun!

Leave the shadows and face the sun!

Escape

Acrylic on Canvas 24 x 20

Escape

Run, Jump, Sore and Fly!

Leave this broken world behind!

At least remove it from your mind,

Escape this turmoil, war and plight!

Unleash the bonds of concrete and steel

that pressures your soul, that locks and seals!

Stop the war that corrodes your thoughts

of superhuman beings in golden robes

Nature is the place of worship,

with one sweep, it can leave us frozen!

The gifts given are the air we breath

and the kindness that our hearts can feel

So run, jump, sore and fly!

and leave this broken world behind!

use compassion as your guiding light

and your thoughts will elevate

into universal flight!

Heaven in Green

Acrylic on Canvas 36 x 24

Heaven in Green

I hope that heaven is this surreal

as I float along this world of green

and in my mind I see a dream

and there I am, my roots so deep

tall and fragrant my branches

touch the sky, generating oxygen

keeping everyone alive!

I could be water in a river or creek

descending cascades of yellow and green

visible from the rocks I would be

perhaps a waterfall in centerfield

I could be tranquil, I could be serene

I would give life to all plants and trees

So here I stand, in this beautiful scene

touched by nature fresh and clean

majestic and breathtaking,

we all must see, so let’s join hands

and keep our planet

Help! I’m Lost

Acrylic on Canvas 24 x 12

Help! I’m Lost!

As I sit at the helm,

my hands on the wheel

my heart is sinking, as I face this ordeal!

A storm is brewing

the waves smashing like steel

I hope my small vessel

can hold on to it’s keel!

The sun is leaving, it’s waving goodnight

and I can only see water

for hundred’s of miles!

Please little boat hold on to your sail

no matter how stormy,

you and I will prevail!

Lightning is striking! I light up a flare!

I see a light in the distance,

I hope somebody’s there!

Lucy turn’s suddenly and hit’s a big wave

and I hear voices calling

as I clench to the rail!

Tranquility

Acrylic on Canvas 48 x 36

Tranquility

Soft footsteps on the grass,

Cherry Blossom petals

sprinkled on the path

I walk quietly through this magic space

and look up to see the Buddha’s face

She’s the Wisdom Goddess from the past

Her magic aura transcends this land

I head towards the steps of life

each step is carved and signifies

all my struggles, joys and highs!

The light falls upon her golden smile

and she raises her hand to wave goodbye

and her love flows gently

down the mountainside

and I catch the gift she leaves behind!

Sam And Rudy Are Back

Rudy lands swiftly on his favorite beach

The cold behind him, no more icy wind!

So he spreads his wings and feels the breeze

and the warm water pours over his icy feet!

Sam the turtle, looks across the sand,

and sees Rudy

he’s so happy that he’s back!

They both bask in the suns fading light

and the waves keep on crashing

sending misty sprays,

mingling with the golden light!

They both have come to build a nest

and hope their offspring

will leave with success!

Sam and Rudy know the score

They don’t want to be

the last to leave the shore

We humans must make sure

that they survive!

Them and us

must find a way to stay alive!

Just You and Me

Along this path just you and me

first held hands amongst the trees

the air was sweet and flowers bloomed

and we kept walking through the woods

The years went by and we still walked

Our favorite place to laugh and talk

Our children grown & moved away

But you and I will always walk this way!

Our love has weaved itself into the trees

the grass caresses both our feet

the flowers offer us their fresh bouquet

and the birds sing to us and serenade

So here we are just you and me

roaming endlessly amongst the trees

a longer journey, one day we’ll take

I hope heaven is as lovely as this place!
